In this closed-loop system, fish waste provides natural nutrients for plants, while the plants help filter and purify the water for the fish. This sustainable approach to food production holds significant potential for the Caribbean's blue economy, which emphasizes the sustainable use of ocean resources for economic growth and environmental health. By adopting aquaponics, Caribbean nations can enhance food security, reduce reliance on imports, and create opportunities for eco-tourism and education. You are invited to the first Networking Event of the Caribbean Aquaculture Hub for the Year. In this 1 hour event Dr. Clara Camarago will give a 20-minute presentation on the possibilities of aquaponics followed by a Q and A.
