I am pleased to announce I have been invited to be a speaker at this event and For the first time the Caribbean will be show cased at the Blue Food Innovation Summit.
I’m speaking at the @Blue Food Innovation Summit in London on May 21-22, 2024! I will be presenting the opportunities and possibilities of the aquaculture sector in the Caribbean. So often the Caribbean gets left out of the conversation. Simply because not enough is known about aquaculture activities in the Caribbean.
For the past two years, I have made it a mission to learn more and have traveled to The Bahamas, Saint Lucia, Jamaica and Puerto Rico. Through the network I have made connections with several more countries. So I am happy to be having conversations with the participants at this summit about the possibilities in the aquaculture sector.
So often we hear about the challenges and contraints which are the reasons why aquaculture has not gone beyond 1% growth compared to global growth of 8%. But since aquaculture is such an important sector, why can’t we find the solutions?
I believe our greatest assests are our Caribbean scientists and University students. We need to tap into their abilities for more research & development and innovation which can segway into value added products and entrepreneurship.
I hope to gain collaborations to help build our mission of education and training for students and farmers.
