The value of Networking with the Caribbean Aquaculture Network
Join the first online networking community for Aquaculturists in the Caribbean
Happy March friends,
Welcome to all new subscribers. I am very happy that you are here.
Thank you to our sponsors for continuing to support my work in bringing aquaculture information to you which assists in paying for our various communication platforms.
I am very excited about what my team and I are currently planning for new events and I can't wait to share it with you.
You can also help us by sharing this newsletter with colleagues, students and anyone interested in news of the Caribbean. You can also make a donation to our website. We are planning exciting things!
Thank you to Arthur Brown, volunteer undergraduate marine biology student for making our flyers.
NETWORKING FOR AQUACULTURISTS
In February I interviewed undergraduates from the University of the West Indies, Life Science Department located in Kingston, Jamaica, to volunteer their time to assist with networking events. Most are 3rd year Marine or Environmental biology majors who want to learn more about aquaculture and its various subsectors.
More to come on our Student volunteer program
When I asked the students if they knew about the value of networking, most did not. Networking was a concept I learned during my stint in the cooperate world while living in New Jersey.
Started during the pandemic in 2021 with just a few farmers, I am proud to say that this is the 3rd year that we will be hosting networking events online targeted to the Aquaculture community.
The Caribbean Aquaculture Network is the first and only networking platform targeted to promoting Aquaculture in the Caribbean
We have had persons attend not only from the Caribbean but also France, Australia, Indonesia, Pakistan, Nigeria, Kenya and Togo to name a few of the countries represented. We engage with anyone interested in learning more and sharing with the Caribbean community about the various aquaculture sectors.
