Mariana Flores from Women in Ocean Food a subsidery of Hatch. Blue, Leanne Bennet and I held our first Instagram Live on Saturday.
It felt like the pandemic all once again as we tried to navigate the platform. In the end I do like Instagram live after we figured it out. It’s such an easy way to have a great conversation that we can share with our followers.
Take a look at what we have in store for the next 2 weeks and why we feel this summit is important.
Major point: Caribbean Women Aquaculture Scientists are invisible. This summit is to start the conversation. How can we get more regional support for Aquaculture Science into STEM education? Science, Research and Innovation needs to be supported if aquaculture in the Caribbean is going to advance.
It just so happens that most of our scientists are women. Our highly educated and experienced women need support and funding. Research and Innovation is key to a successful sustainable industry.
